THE RACE

The Premise

  • Race day should be a thrilling spectacle for the fans and a challenge for the drivers.
  • Drivers and Cars should be on the limit the whole time
  • Fans should expect to be entertained by awe-inspiring cars and overtaking manoeuvers

The Event
Each race meeting consists of practice, qualifying and two races carrying equal points all taking place in a single day, so fans coming to the track get to see all the action.

Qualifying
Qualifying determines the start position for Race 1, fastest at the front.
Finishing position in Race 1 determines the start position for Race 2
 - Top 10 finishers start in reverse order from the back
 - Rest of the field start based on morning qualifying, fastest at the front

Anyone looking to take full points must be able to overtake!

Race 1 - GenY Race
Standing start, sprint race, short dash, quick as you can to win, mad as hell.

Race 2 - the Long Sprint
Standing start, longer than the GenY Race to allow for overtaking, great spectacle for the fans.

No refueling in either race, tire changes optional.

There will be various additional special stages through out the season.

The season will be UK based initially

THE CARS

The Spirit of the championship is to race and develop road cars, recognizable as road cars, albeit Hyper aggressive, Hyper fast road cars.

Cars should be road legal HyperCars, Hyper fast, Hyper aggressive styling and pushing the boundaries of sanity but still recognizable as road cars.  The regulations are light, but the spirit must be respected.

The rules are simple: cars must be road legal, recognizable as a car and meet safety standards.

 - All cars must be drivable, no driver should complain their car is un-drivable
 - Cars must be closed wheel and road legal, capable of passing a UK MOT*
 - Cars must be able to carry a minimum two full sized adults side by side viewed from the front (at least two seats must be fitted in race mode)
 - Cars must have a minimum one opening door on each side
 - Cars must have a windscreen
 - Cars must take an airplane cabin sized bag
 - Cars must conform to MSA safety standards for closed wheel cars (see link below)
 - Cars may use slick tires

We want HyperCars to be about being the best, pushing boundaries, experimenting in a competitive environment - not being held back.

There are no equalization measures, no limits on in season development, no restrictions on testing.  If you develop a speed secret - good on you, you get to keep it whilst the others look for their own advantage.

THE TEAMS

We want racing to be about (wo)man and machine racing at the limits on the track.

There are limited regulations for the vehicles, however, we want the series open to all, teams of one and teams of many.  At race weekends there will be a restriction on the number of 'Technical' personnel who can work on a car.  This will include the driver, team manager, mechanics, IT programmers/systems developers pit crew and strategists. We want racing to take place on the track, not in the garage.

There is no reason why the same individual cannot perform multiple roles and there will be no limit on non Technical personnel.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

Anyone with access to:

     1. A Fast Car
     2. Someone with a racing licence

If you have a fast car and a racing licence you can take part.
If you have a racing licence but not a fast car - find a fast car.
If you have a fast car but not a racing licence, find someone with a racing licence

That's all you need.

However, we also recommend a competitive spirit, some of the best innovations are borne out of competition on a tight budget

- If you are a tuning company wanting to show off your product - this is for you

- If you are a tuning company wanting to test new products - this is for you

- if you are a manufacturer wanting to test new developments - this is for you

- If you are an individual wanting to take part in the best bl**dy race series ever, guess what? This is for you!

Remember, cars must be road legal, they can be sold at the end of the season.  If you develop a performance package or a new technology, it can be sold, if you build a car you can do a production run, if you have a product it will receive a lot of great publicity.
